How to host a tea party

Warm and comforting; tea is the perfect drink for celebrating, getting together and catching up on all the gossip.

I am such a huge fan of the afternoon tea revival. Yummy tea and pretty china? Yes. Good company? Yes. Scones, pastries, and some super fancy sandwiches?! Triple yes!

Tea parties should not be reserved for five year olds (although my little girl does serve a wonderful cup of air) I think we all deserve to get a little fancy sometimes. Keep your party vintage and oh so pretty with our beautiful items.

First up on the list is tea, ahh tea <3 Ensure to serve a wide selection including fruit teas, decaf, perfumed bags as well as including milk, cream, sugar and perhaps a lemon slice if you’re feeling really fancy! Not forgetting a cheeky bottle of champagne to accompany the tea and really make your guests feel special?

Next up, sandwiches! Make sure you get a mix of different breads, cut the crusts off, cut into triangles and serve to begin your afternoon tea extravaganza! Make sure to include a choice for vegetarians and guests with allergies.

Next come the scones, afternoon tea just wouldn’t be afternoon tea without scones! Ensure plenty of clotted cream, a selection of sweet sugary fruity jams sit back, relax and take a moment to enjoy the most luxurious of treats!

Then lastly, when you think you just can’t fit any more in, come the pastries! Delicate pastry filled with cream and berries, a naughty chocolate eclair, an exquisite macaroon that melts in the mouth all add up to a most fabulous afternoon tea with your nearest and dearest!
